Schülerakademie - Students' AcademyDedicated and creative young minds are the basic pillar of innovation and sustainable social and economic development of our society. The Schülerakademie aims to support young people in their professional and educational choices and to strengthen their personalities. The high school and university students of today are the experts and managers of tomorrow. They are the ones who will initiate future movement – to benefit our society. The Schülerakademie is a direct cooperation partner of students. Its programs are aimed at various target groups of young people. They receive extensive support on their way from high school to university or vocational training. Our services are unique in that we offer the young people expert consultancy at eye level and accompany them in the last two years before their graduation and the first year of higher education or vocational training – to ensure a successful transition and excellent launch of a new stage in their life! Under the umbrella of the Schülerakademie, the Foundation of German Business (Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft) offers two educational programs: MINToring – Studierende begleiten Schülerinnen und Schüler (University students support high school students) and Zeig, was Du kannst! Erfolgreich ins Berufsleben starten (Show what you can do! Successfully launching a professional career). Implemented across Germany, the MINToring program is aimed at senior academic secondary school students who are curious about and interested in MINT subjects (Mathematics, IT, Natural Sciences and Technology) and who are still undecided whether to pursue a university degree in these subjects. We arouse the enthusiasm of young people for MINT with the aim of motivating them to pursue a MINT subject at university. This is because young people with an excellent natural science/technical education are in high demand by both the economy and the society. Compared to other countries, too few young Germans enroll in MINT subjects at university and graduate successfully. This problem is addressed by MINToring, which is currently offered in Berlin, Dresden/Leipzig, Karlsruhe, Kiel, Köln, Saarbrücken, Siegen and Stuttgart. Zeig, was Du kannst! addresses highly motivated youths attending non-academic secondary schools. We improve their vocational training abilities and equip them for professional training or for continuing their education in an academic institution. By demonstrating perspectives for their future, Zeig, was Du kannst! motivates the young people to utilize their potentials and strengths to actively and successfully shape their educational and professional careers. The program is offered to students in Berlin, Bremen, Düsseldorf and Munich. With the support of committed partners, the Schülerakademie of the Foundation of German Business wants to develop and permanently establish the MINToring and Zeig, was Du kannst! programs. We cordially invite interested companies, corporate associations, as well as foundations and institutions to support and join us in our efforts.
